CuNi 70/30 Copper Nickel Elbow, Corrosion Resistant Seamless 90° LR ASME B16.9 Butt Weld Fitting
1.Product Description
Copper Nickel Elbow (also known as CuNi Elbow or Cupronickel Elbow) is a directional pipe fitting manufactured from copper-nickel alloy. Copper-nickel is an alloy of copper that contains nickel and strengthening elements such as iron and manganese. Despite its high copper content, cupronickel appears silver in color.
The product is primarily formed by hot pushing, hot bending, or cold extrusion processes, followed by solution treatment to achieve a uniform and dense microstructure. Copper Nickel Elbows are manufactured in strict accordance with international standards including ASTM B466, ASTM B467, ASME B16.9, DIN 86090, EEMUA 146, and GB/T 12459. Common material grades include UNS C70600 (90/10 CuNi), UNS C71500 (70/30 CuNi), and BFe10-1-1.
2.Product Applications
Copper Nickel Elbows are widely used in piping systems that handle seawater and other corrosive media, owing to their exceptional resistance to seawater corrosion. Primary application areas include:
-
Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering: Marine piping systems, seawater cooling systems, ballast water systems, firefighting systems, and shipboard pipeline networks
-
Offshore Platforms & FPSO: Offshore pipeline systems that withstand long-term seawater corrosion and biofouling
-
Seawater Desalination Plants: Seawater transmission pipelines resistant to erosion from high-velocity seawater
-
Power Industry: Cooling water systems, condenser pipelines in thermal and nuclear power plants
-
Chemical & Petrochemical Industry: Corrosive medium pipelines for chemical transport
-
Port Facilities, Salt Chemical Industry & Wastewater Treatment: Anti-corrosion pipeline systems
3 · Product Advantages
-
Superior Corrosion Resistance: Exceptional resistance to seawater corrosion, chloride ion pitting, and salt spray erosion. Almost no pitting or crevice corrosion occurs in seawater, with a uniform corrosion rate of <0.03 mm/year.
-
Anti-Biofouling Property: The surface continuously releases trace copper ions, effectively preventing the attachment of shellfish, algae, and other marine organisms.
-
Excellent Weldability: Can be welded by TIG or manual arc welding without preheating; weld corrosion resistance remains unchanged.
-
High Strength & Reliability: Superior tensile strength with tensile strength ≥295 MPa and elongation ≥32%, capable of withstanding temperature fluctuations and pipeline vibration.
-
Seamless & Dense Structure: Formed from seamless pipe billet by pushing and bending, resulting in a compact structure, smooth curvature, and uniform wall thickness.
-
Low Flow Resistance & Anti-Fouling: Smooth inner wall surface minimizes frictional resistance and prevents scale accumulation.
-
Leak-Proof & Durable: Leak-proof connections with long service life, requiring low maintenance.
