CuNi 70/30 Copper Nickel Reducing Tee Butt Weld Fitting ASME B16.5 Class150 Marine Grade
1. Product Description
The Copper Nickel Reducing Tee is a seamless T-shaped fitting manufactured from high-grade CuNi alloys – 90/10 (UNS C70600) or 70/30 (UNS C71500). It features one main run inlet and two branch outlets of smaller diameters, enabling flow splitting and size reduction in a single component without additional reducers.
The fitting is produced by hot forging or extrusion, ensuring a weld-free body with superior structural integrity. End connections are available in three types: butt weld (BW) with beveled ends per ASME B16.25, socket weld (SW) with square-cut chamfered ends, and threaded (NPT or BSP) for screw-on installation. All surfaces are pickled and passivated to remove oxides and improve corrosion resistance in aggressive media.
2.Product Applications
-
Commercial vessels – seawater cooling, fire main systems, ballast water lines, and sanitary piping on cargo ships, tankers, and passenger vessels.
-
Offshore oil & gas platforms – seawater lift pumps, process cooling loops, and firewater ring mains.
-
Suitable media: Seawater, brackish water, fresh water, demineralized water, steam (low pressure), compressed air, and light hydrocarbon oils.
-
Desalination plants – intake pipelines, brine discharge headers, and product water transfer systems.
-
Power stations – circulating water systems (CWS) and auxiliary cooling circuits in thermal and nuclear plants.
-
Industrial facilities – heat exchangers, HVAC systems, chemical processing, and compressor interconnecting piping.
3. Product advantages:
-
Extended service life – proven 30+ years in seawater with minimal corrosion, dramatically reducing replacement frequency and maintenance costs.
-
Natural anti-biofouling – copper ion release prevents barnacle, mussel, and algae attachment, eliminating expensive chemical dosing and manual scraping.
-
Excellent erosion resistance – withstands high-velocity flow up to 5 m/s without surface damage, ideal for pump discharge and high-flow lines.
-
Good weldability – compatible with standard TIG/MIG welding using ERCuNi filler metal; thick-wall sections require only simple preheat (100–150°C above 20mm).
-
Full material traceability – each fitting supplied with mill test reports (MTR); optional third-party inspection available (DNV, ABS, Lloyd's).
-
100% recyclable – environmentally sustainable material, meeting green procurement and corporate ESG requirements.
-
Low magnetic permeability – suitable for applications where non-magnetic materials are preferred.
