CuNi 70/30 Copper Nickel Socket Weld Tee Reducing Equal ASME B16.5 Class150 Pipe Fitting
1. Product Description
A Copper Nickel Tee is a T-shaped pipe fitting made of copper-nickel alloy, used for flow diversion, combining, or 90° branch connection in piping systems. By structure, it is classified into equal tee and reducing tee. By manufacturing process, it includes seamless hot-pushed tee, die-forged tee, and welded tee. By end connection, it includes butt weld tee, socket weld tee, and threaded tee. Typical material grades are C70600 (90/10 CuNi) and C71500 (70/30 CuNi). The 90/10 copper-nickel alloy is copper-based, containing approximately 10% nickel, with small additions of iron and manganese, offering excellent seawater corrosion resistance, anti-biofouling performance, and mechanical properties. The product is usually solution-annealed, pickled, and passivated, making it suitable for corrosive service in marine, offshore, desalination, power, and petrochemical industries.
2. Applications
Copper Nickel Tees are suitable for the following systems and service conditions:
Seawater cooling systems, fire main systems, ballast water systems, and bilge drainage systems on ships;
Seawater transport and cooling pipelines on offshore platforms, FPSOs, and offshore drilling units;
Cooling water systems for desalination plants and coastal power plants;
Corrosive media transportation pipelines in petrochemical plants;
Heat exchangers, condensers, coolers, and piping distribution systems;
Pharmaceutical, food, metallurgical, and other piping systems requiring high corrosion resistance and cleanliness.
Typical media include seawater, brine, fresh water, and certain corrosive chemical media. Typical service environments include humid, high-salinity, flowing seawater, and marine atmospheric conditions.
3. Advantages
Excellent seawater corrosion resistance, especially in flowing seawater environments;
Strong resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking;
Slow release of copper ions inhibits marine biofouling;
Good weldability, suitable for TIG, MIG, and arc welding;
Good balance of strength and toughness, withstanding pressure fluctuations and vibration;
Non-magnetic, suitable for magnetically sensitive equipment and systems;
Long service life and low maintenance cost, offering good life-cycle economy;
Can be manufactured to ASME, DIN, EEMUA, and MSS standards, with classification society certification available.
4. Functions
Divides one fluid flow into two paths, or combines two flows into one in a piping system;
Provides 90° branch connection and direction change;
Reducing tee enables pipe diameter transition while dividing or combining flow;
Acts as a standard pressure-bearing connection component, ensuring connection strength and sealing reliability;
Suitable for long-term operation under high pressure, high temperature, corrosive media, and marine environments.
