CuNi 70/30 Copper Nickel Seamless Butt Weld Tee ASME B16.5 Class150 Marine Pipe Fitting
1. Product Description
A copper nickel tee is a T-shaped pipe fitting made of copper-nickel alloy, mainly used for flow diversion, combining, or direction change in piping systems. It can be classified into equal tee and reducing tee by structure, and into seamless tee and welded tee by manufacturing process. Common connection types include butt weld (BW), socket weld (SW), and threaded connection. Typical material grades are C70600 (90/10 CuNi) and C71500 (70/30 CuNi). The 90/10 copper-nickel alloy is copper-based, containing approximately 10% nickel, with small amounts of iron and manganese, offering excellent seawater corrosion resistance and good overall mechanical properties. Copper nickel tees are usually solution-annealed, pickled, and passivated, making them suitable for corrosive service in marine, offshore, desalination, petrochemical, and power industries.
2. Applications
Copper nickel tees are widely used in piping systems requiring seawater resistance, corrosion resistance, and long service life, including:
Seawater cooling systems, fire main systems, ballast water systems, and bilge drainage systems on ships;
Seawater transport and cooling pipelines on offshore platforms and drilling units;
Cooling water systems for desalination plants and coastal power plants;
Corrosive media transportation pipelines in petrochemical plants;
Heat exchangers, condensers, and piping distribution systems;
Pharmaceutical, food, metallurgical, and other industries with high requirements for pipeline cleanliness and corrosion resistance.
3. Advantages
Strong seawater corrosion resistance, especially in flowing seawater environments;
Excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking;
Copper ion release helps inhibit marine biofouling;
Good weldability, suitable for TIG, MIG, and arc welding;
Good balance of strength and toughness, capable of withstanding pipeline vibration and pressure fluctuations;
Non-magnetic, suitable for magnetically sensitive equipment and systems;
Long service life and low maintenance cost, offering good overall economy.
4. Functions
Divides one fluid flow into two paths, or combines two flows into one in a piping system;
Provides 90° branch connection and direction change;
Reducing tee enables pipe diameter transition while dividing or combining flow;
Acts as a standard connection component, ensuring connection strength and sealing reliability;
Suitable for long-term operation under high pressure, high temperature, and corrosive media conditions.
