Product Description

CuNi 70/30 Cupro Nickel Tube C71500 Seawater Corrosion Resistant Condenser Pipe

1.Product Description

Copper Nickel Pipe is a corrosion-resistant tubular product made from a copper matrix with nickel as the primary alloying element. CuNi 90/10 (UNS C70600) contains approximately 10% nickel, with small additions of iron and manganese, making it one of the most widely used copper-nickel alloy pipes. It offers excellent seawater corrosion resistance, good thermal conductivity, and inherent biofouling resistance. It can be produced in seamless or welded forms and meets international standards such as ASTM B466, ASTM B467, ASTM B111, and ASME SB466. CuNi 90/10 copper nickel pipe is widely used in shipbuilding, power generation, desalination, marine engineering, and chemical heat exchange equipment, serving as an economical choice for seawater cooling systems and condenser tube bundles.

2.Product Applications

Key applications of CuNi 90/10 copper nickel pipe include:

Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering: Seawater cooling lines, ballast water piping, bilge lines, fire main systems, deck wash systems, and offshore platform seawater pipelines.

Power Generation: Condenser tube bundles, auxiliary cooling circuits, lube oil coolers, and heat exchangers in fossil-fired and nuclear power plants.

Desalination: Heat exchanger tubes, intake and outfall lines for MSF, MED, and RO plants.

Oil & Gas: Seawater injection, cooling, and fire-fighting piping on offshore platforms, FPSOs, and LNG modules.

Chemical & Process Industry: Distillation towers, reactors, seawater-cooled heat exchangers, condensers, and piping systems.

Marine Components: Seawater pump bodies, valve bodies, fittings, propeller shaft sleeves, and seawater corrosion-resistant structural parts.

3.Product Advantages

  1. Excellent Seawater Corrosion Resistance: CuNi 90/10 forms a dense protective film in seawater, with corrosion rates as low as 0.025–0.0025 mm/yr, far superior to carbon steel and standard stainless steels.

  2. Inherent Biofouling Resistance: Copper ion release inhibits marine organism attachment, reducing biocide use and shutdown cleaning frequency.

  3. Good Thermal Conductivity: Thermal conductivity of approximately 40–50 W/(m·K), higher than CuNi 70/30, making it suitable for efficient heat transfer in condensers and heat exchangers.

  4. Outstanding Cost-Effectiveness: Compared with CuNi 70/30, CuNi 90/10 has lower nickel content and is more cost-effective, making it an economical choice for seawater cooling systems.

  5. Good Fabrication & Weldability: Supports cold drawing, annealing, TIG/MIG welding, flaring, bending, and deep drawing.

  6. Long Service Life: Can reliably serve in seawater environments for over 20 years with low maintenance costs.

  7. Wide Temperature Adaptability: Operating range of approximately -100°C to 315°C, with no low-temperature brittleness and stable high-temperature performance.
