1.Product Description

 

Copper Nickel Flange (also known as Cupro Nickel Flange) is a pipe flange connector made primarily from copper (Cu) and nickel (Ni) alloy. Copper and nickel are infinitely soluble in each other, forming a continuous α-phase solid solution that imparts excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance to the alloy. The product is manufactured through integral forging, followed by high-temperature forging, solution heat treatment, CNC precision machining, sealing face lapping, and acid pickling/passivation, resulting in a dense structure free from porosity and shrinkage. Primary material grades include Chinese standard BFe10-1-1 (B10, 90/10 copper nickel, equivalent to UNS C70600) and BFe30-1-1 (B30, 70/30 copper nickel, equivalent to UNS C71500). The product complies with ASME B16.5, ASTM B171/B151, GB/T 9119, HG/T20592, DIN, EEMUA 145, and other international and domestic standards.

2.Product Applications

Copper Nickel Flanges are widely used in the following applications:

Superior Seawater Corrosion Resistance: Forms a self-healing protective oxide film on the surface, with corrosion resistance far superior to 316L stainless steel in seawater, chloride, and salt spray environments. 90/10 alloy has a corrosion rate of <0.025mm/year, while 70/30 alloy achieves ≤0.01mm/year.

  2. Anti-Biofouling: Copper ions provide natural antibacterial and antifouling properties, effectively inhibiting the attachment of barnacles, shellfish, algae, and other marine organisms, significantly reducing pipeline maintenance workloads.

  3. Excellent Mechanical Properties: High strength, good toughness, and resistance to high-velocity seawater erosion and cavitation corrosion. 70/30 alloy has tensile strength ≥490MPa and yield strength ≥180MPa.

  4. Good Weldability and Workability: Easy to weld, form, bend, and expand; can be perfectly paired and welded with copper nickel pipes of the same material.

  5. Low Magnetic Properties and Long Service Life: Low magnetic characteristics, with a service life up to 3 times that of stainless steel, and a design life of up to 30 years in seawater piping systems.

  6. Strong Adaptability: Resistant to high temperatures (≤200°C) and thermal shock, suitable for complex operating conditions with alternating high and low temperatures.
