Product Description

CuNi 90/10 70/30 Eccentric Reducer Fittings ASME B16.9 Class 150 Marine Grade

1.Product Description

The Copper Nickel Reducer Fitting is a tapered transition component designed to connect pipes of differing diameters within piping systems. It is manufactured from high-quality copper-nickel alloys, primarily in grades 90/10 CuNi (UNS C70600, also known as CuNi90/10 or BFe10-1-1) and 70/30 CuNi (UNS C71500, also known as CuNi70/30 or B30). The fitting is available in two configurations: Concentric Reducers (maintaining a common centerline) and Eccentric Reducers (offset centerlines to facilitate drainage or maintain a flat bottom alignment). The products comply with international standards such as ASME B16.9, DIN 86089, EEMUA146, and GB/T 12459, and offer multiple connection types including butt weld, socket weld, threaded, and flanged joints to suit diverse installation scenarios.

2.Product Applications

These fittings are extensively used in civil and industrial piping systems that handle corrosive fluids. Key application sectors include:

  • Marine and offshore engineering (commercial vessels, offshore platforms, coastal construction) for seawater cooling, fire mains, ballast water, and fresh water systems;

  • Desalination plants for seawater intake, pretreatment, and brine discharge lines;

  • Thermal and nuclear power plants (coastal sites) for circulating cooling water, auxiliary cooling, and condenser systems;

  • Petrochemical and fine chemical industries for brine heat exchange, process cooling, and chemical transfer lines;

  • Municipal water supply and wastewater treatment for large‑diameter pipe size transitions;

  • HVAC and refrigeration systems for cooling water loops;

  • Food and pharmaceutical industries, where corrosion resistance and contamination‑free performance are required.

3.Product Advantages

  • Exceptional corrosion resistance – performs excellently in seawater, saline solutions, and various mild acids/alkalis, with a naturally formed protective oxide film that prevents pitting and crevice corrosion over long service.

  • Inherent anti‑biofouling – the alloy naturally resists marine organism and microbial attachment, reducing maintenance intervals.

  • High strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance – withstands water hammer, vibration, and thermal cycling stresses.

  • Excellent weldability – compatible with TIG, MIG, and arc welding; weld joints are dense, corrosion‑resistant, and match the parent metal without requiring special post‑weld heat treatment.

  • Extended service life and cost‑effectiveness – in chloride‑containing and elevated‑temperature environments, service life far exceeds that of carbon steel and ordinary stainless steel, lowering total lifecycle costs.

  • Smooth diameter transition – the tapered geometry minimizes turbulence and pressure drop, enhancing system energy efficiency.

  • Wide applicability – available in multiple pressure ratings (Class 150–900, PN 6–100) and wall thickness schedules to suit diverse operating conditions.
