Custom Length CuNi 70/30 Nickel Copper Welded Pipe ASME SB466 Schedule 40 Tubing
1.Product Description
Copper-nickel pipe is a seamless or welded tubular product made from copper-nickel alloy, primarily composed of copper (Cu) and nickel (Ni), with minor additions of iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) to enhance mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. The most common grades are 90/10 (CuNi 90/10, UNS C70600) and 70/30 (CuNi 70/30, UNS C71500). These pipes are manufactured according to international standards such as ASTM B466, B467, B111, and EN 12451, offering excellent dimensional accuracy, uniform wall thickness, and superior surface quality. They are available in a wide range of diameters and schedules to meet diverse engineering requirements.
2. Product Applications
Copper-nickel pipes are widely used in marine engineering, offshore oil and gas platforms, shipbuilding (hull piping, cooling water systems, fire protection systems), seawater desalination plants, power generation stations (condenser and heat exchanger tubes), chemical processing industries, and coastal infrastructure. They are the preferred material for conveying seawater, brine, and other corrosive fluids, as well as for high-temperature steam and hydraulic systems requiring reliable anti-fouling and biofouling resistance.
3. Product Advantages
-
Superior corrosion resistance – Exceptional resistance to seawater, brackish water, and chloride-induced pitting, stress corrosion cracking, and erosion-corrosion.
-
Excellent biofouling resistance – Naturally inhibits marine organism adhesion, reducing maintenance and cleaning frequency.
-
High strength and ductility – Good mechanical properties at both ambient and elevated temperatures, with easy bending, flanging, and welding.
-
Long service life – Proven track record of 30+ years in marine environments with minimal degradation.
-
Low magnetic permeability – Suitable for applications where non-magnetic materials are required.
-
Good thermal conductivity – Efficient heat transfer performance for heat exchanger applications.
-
Fabrication friendly – Compatible with standard welding, brazing, and soldering techniques; readily machinable.
