1. Product Description

The Copper Nickel Equal Tee is a fitting with three fully equal bore paths, used to create perpendicular branches from main pipelines. Manufactured from high-quality copper-nickel alloy (Cu-Ni 90/10 or 70/30) by hot forging or cold extrusion, it offers high dimensional accuracy and uniform wall thickness. Production and inspection follow ASTM B466, ASME B16.9, and EN 10253-2, providing excellent resistance to seawater corrosion and biofouling – a reliable choice for severe service piping.

2. Product Applications

3.Installation & Precautions

  • Receiving inspection:Verify size, quantity, and material marking. Spot-check surface for micro-cracks using MT or PT.

  • Pre-weld preparation:Grind bevel and surrounding 25mm area to bright metal using stainless steel brush or grinding wheel; do not use chlorine-containing cleaners.

  • Welding procedure:GTAW root pass, SMAW fill and cap. Use ECuNi electrodes and ERCuNi filler wire. Heat input 10-20 kJ/cm; interpass temperature ≤150℃.

  • Dissimilar metal connections:When connecting to carbon steel or austenitic stainless steel, use bimetallic transition joints or insulating flanges to prevent galvanic corrosion.

  • Pipe supports:Place rubber or plastic pads between supports and fittings to avoid local wear from direct metal contact.

  • Long-term shutdown:If system out of service for more than one month, drain and flush with fresh water, dry, then seal.

  • Special warnings:Evaluate suitability if H₂S content in medium is high; do not use for molten metals or dry chlorine gas.
